Bad Results Of Plastic Surgery

By Clare Eisenman

When people talk about bad plastic surgery then they usually have seen a picture of a celebrity who has had so many cosmetic surgery procedures that he or she looks totally unnatural already.

Another example of bad plastic surgery can happen when something goes wrong during the surgery. There are always risks and complications with any surgery and nobody, even the most experienced surgeon, is immune against failure. Sometimes things go wrong, even if everything was taken in consideration and the preparation was perfect. Talk about bad luck.

On the other hand, it is often the fault of the surgeon or the patient when bad plastic surgery happens. Sometimes cosmetic surgeons try to make things perfect and forget that perfection does not look natural. On the other hands they are often urged by their patients to to their 'best'. They want the best possible surgery, sometimes at all costs. They want to have the biggest breasts, the youngest face or fat removal on all possible body parts.

If people can easily see that someone had a cosmetic surgery then it is bad plastic surgery, no matter how well the surgery was done from a medical point of view. If the surgery looks unnatural then it was a failure. The goal of an aesthetic improvement of the look was missed.

A good plastic surgeon must also be an artist. He must take the personality and character of the patient into consideration. The overall appearance must fit. The results of the cosmetic surgery must perfectly integrate. If the surgeon just focuses on the surgery and not how the results blend with the rest of the body then he is flying blind and the results could be called bad plastic surgery.

We have all seen too many pictures of bad cosmetic surgery. These faces or bodies are ruined for life. Either there have been complications or just an experienced surgeon was testing new techniques.

Complications are part of the life of any plastic surgeon. Just because you have no medical necessity for the surgery doesn't protect you against possible negative outcomes of a surgery. If you get an eyelid surgery or a face lift for example and the surgery causes a nerve damage your look could be ruined for life.

An infection is another big risk in any surgery. An infection can ruin the best plastic surgery. The more blood you lose the bigger the risk. A traditional extensive liposuction where you could loose a lot of blood has this risk.

When it comes to bad plastic surgery then most people are afraid of scars and other skin damages. No matter how good it looks below your skin, if the skin has problems then it won't look good. There can be skin death or necrosis, asymmetry, numbness or a loss of sensation, dimples or puckers. All things you definitely don't want.

You must be aware that many of the side effects will never go away. You pay a high price when you don't do your homework. The best way to reduce the risk factors by choosing an excellent surgeon who has specialized in the cosmetic surgery you are looking for. The second risk factor is the patient itself. Make sure you life healthy. Smoking or a high fat diet can increase the risk of complications.
